Description
The ornate design and flash of the 42 Series adds panache to the classic tone of East Indian rosewood back and sides, a spruce scalloped X-braced top, and hand-fit dovetail neck joint. Open geared tuners, antique white binding, polished gloss finish and abalone pearl top inlay offers exquisite style with complex tone. Short scale and a sleek modified low-oval neck with narrow taper mean strumming and picking for hours in comfort and bliss. Professionally set up with fresh strings & low action so it's ready to play straight out of the case.
Cosmetic Condition: Various surface scratches along with some minor dents & dings, but very good condition overall.
Neck: Mahogany neck with some nice flame figuring. Cream binding with black side-dots. Ebony fingerboard with abalone inlays. Frets show some wear, but have plenty of life in them. Bound headstock with rosewood veneer & abalone Martin inlay. Gold Grover open-gear tuners with Butterbean buttons. 1 3/4" nut width; 24.9" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works perfectly.
Body: Double-bound 000 body size in natural high-gloss finish. Solid spruce top with abalone purfling. Tortoise pickguard & abalone rosette. Ebony belly bridge with compensated saddle. White bridge pins with abalone dot inlays. Solid Indian rosewood back & sides with herringbone center strip. There are no electronics currently in the guitar, but it previously had an end-pin jack & the hole had been reamed a bit, hence the larger black end-pin. Guitar weighs 4 lbs 4 oz.
