Description
This Jackson Rhoads RRXMG is a high-gain axe with plenty of personality, courtesy of its crushing EMG active humbuckers, wicked-fast Speed neck, and stunning white and black pinstripe finish. Lean, mean, and oozing with brutality, this Jackson is a metal guitarist's dream come true.
Cosmetic Condition: This guitar is in very good condition for being nearly a decade old. The finish is in good shape, but it does have some scuffing on the back. Other than that, the hardware is nice and shiny, the neck is clean, and the fretboard looks great.
Neck: Through-Body maple Speed neck with a 24 fret rosewood fingerboard and Sharkfin inlays. The frets have plenty of life left in them, the truss rod works great, and the tuners turn without resistance. The Speed neck feels lightning-fast in hand, and the compound radius fingerboard flattens out in the upper register for easy shredding.
Body: A lightweight basswood body gives this Jackson a wonderfully balanced sound across the tonal spectrum, a plus if you're the kind of player who loves stacking effects. Its Floyd Rose Special double-locking 2-point vibrato provides exceptional tuning stability, intonation, and sustain, giving it the sound and feel of a guitar twice its price. Weighs 7lbs. 5.8 oz.
Electronics: This Jackson's active EMG humbuckers deliver a mean, aggressive tone with tight lows, punchy mids, and biting highs. If you're looking for a little extra sonic versatility, though, this RRXMG's 3-way pickup selector and independent volume knobs for each pickup give it a wealth of top-notch tones. All electronics are fully functional.
