Description
What makes this guitar special: This is a fantastic acoustic for the money through and through. Few other guitars in this price range include maple binding or ebony anything for that matter. The overall response is quite impressive, considering its smaller size and normally mild-mannered tone wood combination. The low end takes advantage of every inch of space, with a good amount of power that compresses as energy is added to it. The mid-range is meaty and rich with punchy, expressive character that translates equally well with finger-style playing or flatpicking and the top end maintains great clarity regardless of the volume. Plus, the whole package comes wrapped up in a classic Guild look, with a nice burst on top to give it a more defined look.
Condition: This guitar is in excellent condition overall. It shows only a few minor dings and dents here and there, as well as a few light surface scratches, but is otherwise in fantastic shape for a used guitar. The frets show very little wear and still have a ton of playing time left in them. The neck is comfortable and the truss rod functions as it should.
Body: Auditorium body with solid mahogany back and sides and a solid Sitka spruce top in Iced Tea Burst finish. Double maple binding. Red tortoiseshell pickguard. Rosewood bridge with compensated saddle and ebony bridge pins with Mother of Pearl dots.
Neck: Slim D shape mahogany neck and 12” radius rosewood fingerboard with dot inlays. Vintage-style Grover open-gear tuning machines. 1 ¾” nut width. 25.5” scale.
Weight: 4 lbs 3.7 oz
Playability/Sound: The slim D neck and wider nut width makes this a great guitar for finger-style players and flatpickers alike. The volume ceiling and overall response are impressive for its body size and tone wood combination. The low end is compressed but fully present, the mid-range is rich in character, punchy, and expressive, while the top end has great articulation.
Case: Includes original hardshell case.
