Made for only a brief period in the early to mid 2000's, Gibson's SmartWood Studio captures the look, feel & tone of the iconic Les Paul model without sacrificing any of its traditional features. Utilizing unique tone woods such as muiracatiara, or simply muir, for the top & a preciosa fingerboard along with a pair of Gibson's patented 490R and 498T Alnico humbuckers, this is one truly gorgeous guitar. Professionally set up & ready to play straight out of the case.
Cosmetic Condition: Excellent condition overall - very clean with various surface scratches. The center seam in the top is rather obvious & not a crack.
Neck: Slender profile mahogany neck with white side dots. Preciosa fingerboard with mother of pearl dot inlays. Frets are in great shape with no wear. Gibson Deluxe tuners are in perfect working condition. Truss rod cover features a green floating leaf, the official logo of the SmartWood series. 1 11/16" nut width; 24 3/4" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine.
Body: Chambered mahogany body with muir top. Stopbar tailpiece & Tune-O-Matic bridge with gold hardware. Guitar weighs 8 lbs 3.9 oz.
Electronics: Gibson 490R & 498T humbuckers with cream bezels & gold covers. Bridge - 13.30K ohms; Neck - 7.52K ohms. Dual volume & tone controls with gold "top hat" knobs; 3-way toggle switch. All electronics are in perfect working condition.
Case: Original Gibson exclusive burlap-covered hardshell case included. One side of the handle has come away from the case.
