This stunning Limited Edition Mick Ralphs 1958 Les Paul Standard is the result of a thorough & meticulous team effort from the skilled artisans at Gibson Custom Shop. It is as accurate as humanly possible of creating the look, feel & sound of the original guitar. Mick Ralphs' massive tones & searing lead work are as indelible to rock n roll as the '58 Burst he is known for playing. Thanks to the painstaking efforts of Gibson Custom Shop, that very guitar was replicated in precise detail as part of a small limited release. The original (serial number 8 7049) was studied in London, where its top carve profile, neck contours & pickup outputs were measured. It took months to craft the prototype which eventually earned the final approval of Mick himself. The resulting run of guitars captures the one-of-a-kind tone, look & feel of the original through the use of hand selected woods, digitally scanned contours, mapped aging patterns, historic hide glue construction & vintage-spec materials. This remarkable replica is not only a playable tribute to a legendary guitarist, but an instrument on par with the hallowed Les Pauls of the late 1950's in every way. Fully inspected & professionally set up by the experts here at Cream City Music, so it's ready to play straight out of the case.
Cosmetic Condition: Intentionally "aged" at the factory to give it the same look & feel as Mick's original '58 - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; scratches, weather checking & finish wear.
Neck: Semi-chunky, one-piece, solid mahogany neck with cream binding & tortoise side-dots. Rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl trapezoid inlays. Frets are clean with no wear. Kluson Deluxe tuners with Keystone buttons. 1 11/16" nut width; 24 3/4" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works perfectly.
Body: Solid, one-piece mahogany body with a gorgeous flame maple top & cream binding. Stopbar tailpiece & ABR-1 bridge with nickel hardware. Single-ply cream pickguard & jackplate. Guitar weighs 8 lbs 4.3 oz.
Electronics: Dual humbuckers with nickel covers & cream bezels. Dual volume & tone controls with gold "top hat" knobs. 3-way toggle switch & "bumble bee" caps. All electronics are in perfect working condition.
Case: Original hardshell case included (also "aged") along with COA & hang tags.
