Description
What makes this guitar special? This is a great parts Strat with loads of character in both look and tone. The most unique aspects in terms of look come from the chrome pickup covers, chrome control knobs with pearloid inserts, pearloid pickguard, and abalone inlays, all of which add elements of flash and style, especially on top of a gloss black body and matching headstock. The pickups are similarly flashy, with a standard single-coil in the neck, a Custom Shop single-coil in the middle, and a Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates humbucker in the bridge, a combination that starts warm and round with some twang in the neck, and extends into full and rich with some bite in the bridge. If the unique configuration isn’t enough, you can even coil-tap the humbucker for more, great single-coil sounds.
Condition: This guitar is in very good condition overall. Outside of some small dings and dents, scratches, and a few small finish chips near the neck plate, it is in great shape and still looks fantastic. The body has been routed for the humbucker in the bridge. The frets show only light wear and still have a full lifetime left of playing in them. The neck is straight and the truss rod is functioning.
Body: Double cutaway contoured 2003 body in Black. 5-ply pearloid pickguard. Sychronized tremolo bridge with individually adjustable saddles. Chrome top hat control knobs with pearloid inserts. Chrome switch tip.
Neck: 2005 Fender USA Deluxe medium round C shape maple neck and rosewood fingerboard with abalone dot inlays and finish-matching headstock. 1 11/16” roller nut. Fender locking tuning machines.
Electronics: Fender single-coil pickup in the neck, Fender Custom Shop single-coil in the middle, Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates humbucker in the bridge. 2 x volume, 1 x push/pull tone control with coil tap. 5-way pickup selector.
Weight: 9 lbs 0.6 oz
Playability/Sound: The medium round C shape neck will be familiar and comfortable to a wide variety of players. The pickups in this Strat sound awesome in all five positions. The single-coil in the neck has a buttery response that bumps in midrange as it gets combined with the Custom Shop in the middle. The Pearly Gates has a nice wide response even in the bridge, but has a bit of extra bite as well and thins out nicely with the coil-tapping push/pull tone control.
Case: Includes semi-hardshell case.
