The American Custom Stratocaster features a two-piece select ash body, giving it a sweet, resonant voice with robust lows, bright highs, and tons of sustain. But killer tones aren't all it has to offer - its 1960 Oval "C"-shaped birdseye maple neck looks fantastic and feels excellent in hand. And, thanks to its compound-radius rosewood fingerboard and 22 narrow tall frets, this Strat plays exceptionally well from the first fret to the last.
Fender equipped the American Custom Stratocaster with a trio of Custom Shop hand-wound Fat '64 pickups, which deliver tight lows, crisp highs, and plenty of chime and sparkle. The middle pickup is reverse-wound for noiseless operation, allowing hum-free playing in positions 2 and 4. Plus, its vintage modified #2 wiring gives it a remarkably clear, consistent sound.
