What makes this guitar special? The natural resonance of this guitar really makes it a pleasure to play. It has the classic archtop sound acoustically and when it’s plugged in, takes full advantage of the Gibson USA ’57 Classic pickups in the bridge and neck, each with its own character but fantastic sounding from end to end. The satin finish over the nicely figured maple body gives it an understated elegance, especially when you pair in the spider web finish checking normally associated with tenured guitars. The SlimTaper neck is widely familiar and plays with ease nut to cutaway. All in all, this is a very clean used guitar with a great build, excellent features, and fantastic tonal integrity.
Condition: Overall, this guitar is in excellent condition. It does have some finish checking throughout the body, as well as a few dings and surface scratches, but otherwise is very clean and still looks fantastic. The neck is straight and the truss rod functions as it should. The frets show very little wear and still have a lot of life left in them.
Body: Bound hollowbody made of laminated maple top, back, and sides with satin finish. 4-ply black/white/black/white pickguard. Rosewood-based Tune-o-Matic bridge and traditional “zig-zag” tailpiece.
Neck: SlimTaper profile solid mahogany neck and bound rosewood fingerboard with split parallelogram inlays. 12” fingerboard radius. 24.75” scale length. 1.68” nut width. Epiphone deluxe tuners.
Electronics: Gibson USA ’57 Classic Humbuckers in the neck and bridge. 2 volume, 2 tone controls. 3-way pickup selector.
