Description

The Epiphone '62 Sorrento Reissue was produced in a limited run of less than 2,000 guitars - 1962 to be exact & this is number 1722 in the series. It was originally finished in Royal Olive & featured Gibson USA mini humbuckers with a trapeze tailpiece. The previous owner highly customized the guitar, which now sports a P-90 (bridge) & P-100 (neck) along with a Bigsby tremolo tailpiece. The Royal Olive finish was stripped off the top & refinished in natural. The guitar was also given a "relic" treatment & intentionally aged to make it look more "vintage". The original pickups, tailpiece & tortoise pickguard are included with the guitar along with the COA & original hardshell case. Professionally set up with fresh strings & low action so it plays & sounds marvelous.

Cosmetic Condition: Intentionally "aged" by the previous owner - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; scratches, weather checking & some finish wear. The Royal Olive finish was refinished natural & the whole guitar has more of a duller look to the finish rather than high gloss. In short, it looks much more vintage & has a really cool vibe to it.

Neck: Mahogany neck with white side-dots. Dark rosewood fingerboard with pearloid dot inlays. Frets are clean with no wear. Wilkinson Deluxe tuners with cream buttons. 1 11/16" nut width; 24 3/4" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works perfectly.

Body: Double-bound, hollow maple body with dual F-holes & Florentine cutaway. Unoriginal Bigsby tremolo tailpiece, but the original trapeze is included with the guitar. Tune-O-Matic bridge on a floating rosewood base. The tortoise pickguard had to be removed due to the bigger sized pickups, but is also included. Guitar weighs 6 lbs 5.2 oz & is exceptionally resonant!

Electronics: The original Gibson USA mini humbuckers were replaced with a Lindy Fralin P-90 (bridge) & an unknown (possibly Gibson) P-100 (neck) both with cream colored "dog ear" covers. The original mini humbuckers are included with the guitar. The original black "top hat" knobs have been replaced with Harmony "cupcake" knobs. Unfortunately the original knobs are not included. Normal 3-way toggle switch for pickup selection & all electronics are in perfect working condition.

Case: Original hardshell case included along with the COA.
