Description
Designed in collaboration with Earl Slick, the virtuosic guitarist who worked with David Bowie and John Lennon, this Earl Slick SL50 is a unique take on a classic design. With its gritty, raw aesthetic and clear-sounding pickups, this axe is excellent for a wide range of performance settings, from alt-rock to metal, from R&B to country. Whether you're in the market for an affordable backup guitar or a reliable mainstay, this SL50 is an excellent choice.
Cosmetic Condition: Excellent. Its heavily-worn finish looks great, the neck is smooth, and the hardware is clean.
Neck: Satin-finished bolt-on "C" shaped maple neck with 22 fret rosewood fingerboard and white dot inlays. The frets are in good shape and the truss rod works perfectly. 1.69" nut width; 25.5" scale length. Neck measures 0.82" thick at the 1st fret and 0.88" thick at the 12th.
Body: Solid swamp ash body with worn black finish. It has a wrap-around bridge made from solid, unfinished brass with two adjustable posts, similar to a Les Paul Junior. It also features solid brass knobs, switches, and tuning pegs. Weighs 8 lbs. 5 oz.
Electronics: This guitar sports a bright-sounding SL119 Fullerton bridge pickup and a warm, buttery SLP121 Fullerton neck pickup. These single-coils are made with vintage-correct materials, including sand-cast Alnico 5 rod magnets and Formvar wire. With just a single volume knob and a 3-way pickup selector, getting a great tone from this SL50 is dead simple. All electronics are fully functional.
