The Boston 6 String banjo is tuned like a guitar so guitar players can instantly start playing this type of banjo. Uniquely Deering, the Boston banjo breaks with tradition and provides a professional quality sound at a lower price point by creating the rim from 3/16″ rolled steel which rings like a tone ring. Also, upgrading the accuracy of tuning by way of guitar tuners with a higher gear ratio than the traditional banjo tuners. The uniquely Deering Inlay pattern gives you visual beauty enhancing the great performance.
Cosmetic Condition: Various nicks, chips, dents & dings; surface scratches & some finish wear.
Neck: Mahogany neck with ebony fingerboard & mother of pearl dot inlays. Frets show some wear, but have plenty of life in them. Grover mini tuners. 1 5/8" nut width; 26 1/4" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine.
Body: 3-Ply Poplar/Poplar/Mahogany resonator, double-bound with 13 7/8" diameter. Nickel plated 3/16″ steel rim with 11" diameter. 11" top frosted medium crown head. Beveled steel tension hoop. 24 flat J-hooks and 9/32" hex nuts. Butterfly 24 piece flange & shoe. 5/8" Deering radiused Smile bridge & 6-string tailpiece. Deering armrest & nickel hardware. There are no electronics & the banjo weighs 9 lbs 15.1 oz.
