Description
What makes this guitar special: This is a killer signature model with a highly-distinct look and great tone. The most immediately noticeable aspect is the “In Deth We Trust” graphic that consumes the guitar’s top and headstock. The rest of the guitar is coated in Black and equipped with blacked-out hardware to match. The fully-covered polished humbuckers look as fantastic as they sound. There is an absolute ton of chunk and body in the neck, and crisp bite in the bridge, all of which does very well with any kind of amp or pedal overdrive, distortion, etc. Even with Mustaine’s custom spec neck shape, it is very easy and comfortable to play and should be familiar to a wide variety of players since it is pretty close to a medium depth C shape. Plus, it’s super clean for a used guitar, providing it that much more value.
Condition: This guitar is in excellent condition overall. It only shows a few minor dings, dents and light scratches throughout to show it’s even been played. The frets show almost no wear whatsoever and still have a full lifetime of playing left in them. The neck is comfortable and the truss rod functions as it should.
Body: Solid mahogany body in Black with “In Deth We Trust” graphic. Black Tune-o-matic bridge. Black knurled dome control knobs.
Neck: Dave Mustaine Spec D mahogany neck and rosewood fingerboard with pearl dot inlays. Black Grover tuning machines. 1 11/16” nut width. 25.5” scale length.
Electronics: DMT Design humbucking pickups in the neck and bridge. 2 x volume, 1 x tone control. 3-way pickup selector.
Weight: 7 lb 10.8 oz
Playability/Sound: The neck on this guitar plays easily and even with a custom spec shape, still feels pretty close to a medium depth C and will likely be familiar and comfortable for many players. The pickups are big and chunky especially in the neck position, whereas the bridge has a bit more bite and clarity, all of which takes very kindly to boosts, overdrive, fuzz, distortion and straight-forward amp drive.
Case: No case included.
