Description
What makes this guitar special: First of all, you don’t see a ton of these finishes floating around anymore. Second, for the money, this is one of the best playing and best sounding basses on the market, plus has a lot more character than most. The lipstick pickups have very defined character, yet still provide a good range of tone. The neck has a bit fatter low end response while the bridge has a little more punch and dry, woody character that gives it a bit of vintage vibe. Both of the pickups have nicely tailored top end articulation as well. The body is nice and light for a bass at just over 6 pounds and the neck to weight ratio makes it just as easy to play standing as it does sitting. The neck plays easy, the body is clean, and overall, this is just an awesome bass, especially for the money.
Condition: This bass is in very good condition overall, if not better. It shows only minor dings and light scratches throughout (mostly in the back), but is still in fantastic shape for a used instrument. The frets show only light wear and still have a ton of playing time left in them. The neck is very comfortable.
Body: Double deep cutaway masonite body in Blue Burst. Chrome fixed trapezoid bridge with individually adjustable saddles. Cream and brown concentric control knobs.
Neck: Slim to medium D shape neck and rosewood fingerboard with white dot inlays. Vintage-style Danelectro closed chrome tuning machines with cream buttons. 1 5/8” metal nut.
Electronics: Danelectro Lipstick pickups in the neck and bridge. 2 x volume, 2 x tone controls.
Weight: 6 lbs 0.8 oz
Playability/Sound: The neck on this bass plays easily head to toe and should be an easy adjustment for most players. The extra deep cutaways provide great upper-fret access. The pickups sound great, with a bit more low end response in the bridge and more dry, woody vintage tone in the bridge, all of which has pretty solid top end definition.
Case: Includes tweed hardshell case.
