Named after the NORAD supercomputer from the 1983 techno-thriller WarGames, the ThorpyFX WOPR is a massive-sounding fuzz pedal capable of unleashing total nuclear annihilation. This gnarly stompbox is the result of fusing two ThorpyFX classics, the Veteran and the Fallout Cloud, but with heavy modifications. What's left is a one-of-a-kind fuzz pedal that leaves sonic destruction everywhere it goes.
Where the Fallout Cloud faltered, the WOPR prevails. This model features a new-and-improved circuit that's more fierce and biting, with a little extra treble zing. When you pair that with the Veteran circuit, you get an explosive fuzz pedal with tons of aggression on tap.
Once you're ready to crank up the heat and start melting faces, you can use the WOPR's intuitive 6-knob interface to find your dream fuzz sound. The Volume and Sustain knobs set the pedal's output and gain, respectively, and there's a TON of gain on tap. Borrowed from the Fallout Cloud, the WOPR's active Treble and Bass controls allow for both additive and reductive tone shaping. Whether you want bright, ice-picky fuzz tones or something more woolly and sludgy for doom-metal riffage, the WOPR can handle it.
The left side of the WOPR takes its inspiration from the ThorpyFX Veteran, and it's excellent for taking things from zero to one hundred. For a fiercer, more "in your face" sound, keep the treble boosted and crank up the volume. If you want a full-range boost to add more 'oomph' to your riffs, though, you can fine-tune the Range knob, and this beast will take on a bolder, more muscular character.
Crafted with only the finest components, including 1% metalfilm resistors, Wima and Panasonic capacitors, and Neutrik jacks, the ThorpyFX WOPR is built to last a lifetime.
