A welcome addition to the T5 family, the Taylor T5z Custom features a gorgeously figured koa top with a shaded edgeburst. Different in a few aspects from the original T5, the T5z Custom has a smaller, more compact body and a 12-inch radius fretboard with jumbo frets, giving electric players a comfortable feel while still maintaining the ability to sound miraculously akin to an acoustic. Like its relative, the standard T5, it also possesses an acoustic body sensor and a concealed humbucker in the neck as well as a visible humbucker in the bridge. This versatile tone machine is controlled by a five-way switch and onboard tone controls that allow players to dial in everything from a spanky single-coil to an honest acoustic sound. Complete with attractive appointments like white binding and gold hardware, this fantastic looking axe is the perfect Swiss army knife of guitars, and it’s always ready at a moment’s notice.
