Description
Strymon EC-1 Single Headed dTape Echo is a compact yet powerful tape echo pedal that captures the warmth, modulation, and harmonic character of vintage tape delays. Inspired by a rare, modded Echoplex EP-2, the EC-1 delivers everything from classic slapback to lush, evolving echoes with deep stereo imaging and rich tube-like saturation.
At its core, Strymon's dTape technology precisely recreates the movement of tape heads, capstan slippage, and mechanical inconsistencies that define the sound of real tape delay. The fully stereo signal path processes left and right channels independently, while a selectable tube-modeled preamp enhances your tone with added warmth and presence. A three-way Record Level switch lets you dial in anything from clean repeats to saturated, harmonically rich delays.
With artifact-free tap tempo, MIDI control, and expression pedal compatibility, the EC-1 seamlessly integrates into any setup. Whether you're after the classic feel of a vintage tape unit or pushing into ambient sonic textures, the EC-1 delivers a truly organic and immersive delay experience.
