This circuit utilizes a combination of op-amps, JFETs, and diodes. All clipping is shaped by JFETs and diodes for a natural, amp-like response. Whether you need a subtle boost, a tight overdrive, or a harmonically rich distortion, the Overdrive+ adapts to your playing with clarity, warmth, and responsiveness.
The op-amp is internally boosted to 30 volts, ensuring it never clips-even when stacking other pedals in front. A three-band control layout gives you the expected VOL, TONE, and GAIN dials, while additional switchable options allow for fine-tuned tonal shaping:
- Bass Cut Switch - Perfect for tightening up low-end response for high-gain tones.
- Clipping Mode Switch - Choose between symmetric clipping for a smoother drive or asymmetric clipping for a textured, natural response.
- Strangle/Raw Boost - This is where the "+" in Overdrive+ truly shines. The Strangle mode introduces a resonant filter for a cocked wah-style response, while the Raw mode removes the filter for a full-range, harmonically rich boost.
