The Silktone Fuzz features two germanium transistors that have been tweaked to get a wide array of tones and fix the problems often associated with germanium fuzz units. Once you're ready to refine your sound, the Silktone Fuzz's intuitive interface makes it easy to get the gritty tones you're seeking.
Using the CLEANUP knob, players can reign in the intensity and aggression of the fuzz effect. When turned up, it delivers a surprisingly good-sounding overdrive, giving it tons of versatility. The Bias control sets the operating voltage of the transistors, changing how they distort and clip the audio signal. This is the real powerhouse behind the Silktone Fuzz and is likely where players will set their starting sound. Looking for that "sweet spot"? Dial it to ~4.50. Prefer some fat, sticky fuzz? Dial it past 7.50. Want spitty gated fuzz? Dial it to ~1.10.
That's not all the Silktone Fuzz has in store, though. Featuring a CLASSIC/RAW toggle switch, this pedal has two different voicings. In Classic mode, you have the traditional fuzz face bass filtering and bias ratio between the transistors. In Raw mode, the bass filter is removed, and the bias ratio of the two transistors is extended, resulting in a fatter, boosted sound.
