Description
Cosmetic Condition: Super cool vintage vibe - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; surface scratches & finish checking. There is a very minor crack in the top, between the treble side of the neck & the pickguard running into the sound hole. The crack is stable with no movement. The guitar had a headstock crack that was professionally repaired & the area refinished. The work was very good & you can't even tell there was a break. The guitar is stamped Factory Second inside the body. Exactly why it was deemed such is really impossible to tell now, but there are no issues regarding playabilty or sound quality. Overall the guitar has a great look to it with a gorgeous patina.
Neck: Mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard & pearloid dot inlays. Frets are in great shape with no wear. Mother of pearl Guild logo & Chesterfield inlays. Open-back strip tuners in perfect working condition. 1 5/8" nut width; 25 1/2" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod is in good working condition.
Body: Rare Florentine cutaway jumbo body. Solid spruce top with mahogany back & sides. There is just the slightest gap between the back of the rosewood bridge & the top of the guitar. It is very minuscule & you can barely slide a single piece of paper between them. In other words, the bridge is firmly attached to the top. Tortoise-style pickguard; multi-ring rosette.
Playability / Sound: Nice, low action - neck plays well & is very comfortable. Marvelous tone - very bright & chimy with a sweet resonance & ring to it.
Case: Vintage Guild hardshell case included.
