Description
What makes this guitar special: A very rare lefty Les Paul Custom in all original condition. This gorgeous Black Beauty was just recently acquired from the second owner who's had it since the early '70s & kept it in great shape over the decades. Professionally inspected & set up by the experts at Cream City Music, this fabulous Custom would make an excellent addition to any collection.
Cosmetic Condition: Used, but not abused, with typical play wear for a guitar its age - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; surface scratches & weather checking; some light finish wear along the neck & some wear in the gold hardware, particularly the tailpiece which shows some chipping/flaking. There's about a dime-sized hole in the back control cover. Not sure what's going on there, but it's purely cosmetic & there are no issues with the electronics. Overall the guitar has a wonderful look to it with a beautiful patina.
Neck: 3-piece, slim tapered mahogany neck with nicely aged cream binding & tortoise side-dots. Ebony fingerboard with mother of pearl block inlays. A true "fretless wonder" with small frets that are in great shape with hardly any wear. Multi-bound headstock with mother of pearl inlays. Kluson "waffle back" tuners are in perfect working condition. There is no Made In USA stamp in the back of the headstock. 1 11/16" nut width; 24 3/4" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine.
Body: Solid mahogany "sandwich" body with maple cap. Multi-bound top & back. Stopbar tailpiece & ABR-1 bridge with nylon saddles & gold hardware. 5-ply black pickguard is in great shape with no cracks, but does show some pick scratches. Guitar weighs 9 lbs 13.8 oz.
Pickups: Gibson Pat No. humbuckers with black bezels. Bridge - 7.66K ohms; Neck - 7.67K ohms (both are pretty evenly matched). Dual volume & tone controls with black "witch hat" knobs; 3-way toggle switch. Pots date to '69 & '70. All electronics are in perfect working condition.
Case: Gibson plastic injection mould hardshell case included.
