What makes this guitar special: An absolutely amazing sounding Chet Atkins Solidbody model with incredible tone & feel! These certainly don't come around very often, but when they do it's always magical. This one had different tuners on it at one time, but the originals are back on, putting the guitar back to all original spec. This one has a fabulous vibe to it - super resonant & wonderfully dynamic, not to mention it has that classic orange finish top! Cosmetic Condition: It has that perfectly aged look we've all come to love & admire about true vintage guitars - obviously loved & played, but certainly not abused - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; surface scratches, weather checking & some mild finish wear. As previously mentioned, there were different tuners on the guitar at one time, so the holes were slightly widened & there are additional screws holes in the back of the headstock. However, the original Sta-Tites are back on function perfectly. There's a tiny bit of shrinkage in the back body binding in the waist areas, but nothing too severe. The neck heel cap shows some deterioration from age, but is still quite firmly attached & not crumbling. Overall the guitar has a wonderful, true vintage look to it with an absolutely gorgeous patina.
Neck: Slender profile mahogany neck with nicely aged cream binding & red side-dots. Beautiful ebony fingerboard with mother of pearl "thumbnail" inlays. Bound headstock with mother of pearl Gretsch & Horseshoe inlays. Gold Grover Sta-Tite tuners are in perfect working condition. 1 11/16" brass nut; 24 3/4" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine.
Body: Single cutaway, chambered mahogany body with maple top. 4-ply binding on both the top & back. Bigsby tremolo tailpiece & Rocking Bar bridge on a floating rosewood base. Gold plexi pickguard with black Gretsch logo. Guitar weighs 7 lbs 12.7 oz.
Electronics: Gretsch FilterTron humbuckers with gold bezels. Master volume & individual pickup volume controls with gold "G" Arrow knobs. 3-way pickup & tone selector switches. All electronics are in good working condition:
Case: Original hardshell case included. The case is in similar condition to the guitar & fully functioning.
