Between 1989 & 1991 Fender Custom Shop produced only 500 35th Anniversary Stratocasters, and this is the very last one - number 500 of 500! It is also a "new old stock" model, meaning it was never sold to the public. We recently acquired the guitar in its original shipping box with the original packing slip that was never opened! Even the pickguard still has its original plastic wrap over it! What we have here is basically a time capsule dating back over twenty years! This gorgeous guitar is in pristine condition & is a guaranteed "must have" for any serious collector.
Cosmetic Condition: Brand new, mint condition! After the guitar was photographed it was placed back in its original case & box. It is not on display in our showroom & will only be shown to prospective buyers upon special request.
Neck: Stunningly figured bird's eye maple neck. The back of the headstock displays the early Custom Shop logo & 500 of 500 production number. Ebony fingerboard with beautiful abalone dot inlays. The front of the headstock shows off even more bird's eye figuring. Locking tuners in perfect working condition. Neck is straight & truss rod is in perfect working condition.
Body: Solid body with quilted maple top finished in 3-tone sunburst. Tremolo bridge with adjustable saddles. 3-ply white pickguard with original plastic wrap. Guitar weighs 8lbs 6.5oz.
Pickups: Three Silver Lace Sensor pickups. Master volume & dual tone controls with Eric Clapton preamp circuit; 5-way pickup selector switch.
Case: Original tweed hardshell case included along with the original Certificate of Authenticity & accessories.
