Description
Although almost overlooked by bluegrass and country players for being “too bassy” in the early-mid 1930s when it was initially introduced (as the D-1), the Martin D-18 and its popularity quickly skyrocketed after recognition by virtuoso players like Bill Monroe in the 1940s. Not only did the Martin dreadnoughts increase in adoration during this time, but were shortly after deemed the only guitars able to produce the indispensible power and clarity needed for laying the rhythmic foundation of driving music. Almost 80 years later, this still rings true in classic form with the Martin D-18. Rife with the trademark elements that made this model timeless like its dreadnought body, Solid Sitka Spruce top, and Mahogany back and sides, it also features a few modern updates like a High Performance Neck for enhanced versatility and playability. This is a brand new guitar that ships with a 445 hardshell case and limited lifetime warranty.
