Description
The Gibson Les Paul Standard '60s Double Trouble puts a unique spin on a classic, bringing vintage-inspired aesthetics and powerful tonal options to one of Gibson's most beloved models. This limited-run version of the Standard '60s retains all the features players love but with aesthetically distinct and exclusive appointments that set it apart.
The most striking change is the uncovered Burstbucker 61R (neck) and Burstbucker 61T (bridge) pickups, featuring Double Classic White bobbins. These hand-wired pickups, built in the Gibson Pickup Shop, use Alnico 5 magnets for a slightly hotter and more articulate take on the PAF sound, delivering snappy highs, tight lows, and a cutting midrange presence. Hand-wired with audio taper potentiometers and Orange Drop capacitors, they provide smooth control over volume and tone.
The finish is another key distinction, featuring Gibson's "Vintage" nitrocellulose lacquer finishes, which are subtly faded compared to standard gloss options. The result is a lightly aged, well-preserved look, with individually hand-sprayed burst patterns ensuring each guitar has its own unique character.
This Les Paul features a solid, non-weight-relieved mahogany body with an AA figured maple top, a time-tested tonewood combination that provides rich sustain and resonance. The SlimTaper mahogany neck offers effortless playability, while the rosewood fingerboard with trapezoid inlays and 22 medium jumbo frets gives it that classic '60s feel.
Premium Gibson hardware completes the package, including a classic ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge, aluminum stopbar tailpiece, Grover Rotomatic tuners with kidney buttons, and gold Top Hat knobs with silver reflectors and dial pointers.
With only 500 guitars available per color, the Les Paul Standard '60s Double Trouble is a rare and exciting take on a timeless classic. Once they're gone, they're gone!
