Description
Here for sale is the very cool G6199 Billy Bo model from the Gretsch Professional Collection. This G6199 is basically a 1959 style Duo Jet rebuilt with the trademark Billy Bo body complete with humbucking FilterTron pickups and Adjusto-Matic Bridge. The G6199 can be considered a solid body guitar because it's constructed of a solid mahogany back, but due to a heavily chambered body and a 3-ply maple top, the guitar retains some of the hollow body tone Gretsch guitars are famous for. Additionally, the heavily-chambered design makes the guitar very lightweight and well-balanced. This G6199 features TV Jones PowerTron pickups and the "G" cutout tailpiece. The PowerTrons are bright and snappy with plenty of punch and sound great when played clean or with as much gain as you can throw at them They're similar to the standard TV Classics but with much higher output. We are a long standing fully authorized independent Gretsch guitar dealer. This is a brand new factory first guitar and comes with the deluxe Gretsch hard case, all documentation and the Gretsch limited lifetime warranty. If you have any questions at all please feel free to give us a call!
About the Guitar (from Gretsch.com): "Some time ago, Bo gave me the guitar as a gift. It was during the recent ZZ Top recordings, when the engineering crew and I snaked through the guitar vault searching for that certain-something guitar, and there it was! We didn't risk subjecting such a rare instrument to the rigors of the road. So this new reproduction model was recreated with some BFG mojo thrown in for good measure. It's now the main stage guitar with a groove." - Billy F Gibbons. Rock luminaries Billy F Gibbons and Bo Diddley have joined forces to bring you a 21st-century version of the elusive Gretsch Jupiter Thunderbird now dubbed the Billy-Bo which was designed in '59 by the talented Bo Diddley himself!
The Professional Collection by Gretsch offers the absolute highest standard for the discriminating Professional player.
