Description

This is a really interesting NOS model from the Gretsch warehouse. This is G6128BKEE Elliot Easton Duo Jet from the Gretsch Professional Collection in gloss black. This guitar is being sold as a “B-Stock” with factory warranty. It’s an earlier model with the serial number engraved into the control cavity that dates it back to 2001. The Elliot Easton models were a little different from the standard Duo Jets. They featured a 1 ¾” deep body that’s technically more accurate to the original late 50’s spec. The guitar also features a graphite nut, Sperzel locking tuners, a fixed tunematic style bridge and the B7G Bigsby with tension bar. Another less apparent difference is the scale length. The Eaton model has a 25” scale length as opposed to the 24.6” scale length found on nearly all other modern Duo Jets. This was a very lucky guitar to get in as a “New Old Stock” piece directly from Gretsch and presents a rare opportunity to buy one of these rare guitars in essentially new un-played condition! The Green Elliot Easton modes are rare, the Black ones are almost unheard of! The guitar is in nearly mint condition and has just a little surface haze on the finish. The protective film has been removed from the pick guard but the guard is clean and free of any marks or wear. There is a very small spot on the bridge pickup where the gold plating has flaked off. Also the knobs look like they may have been over polished and the gold plating is thin near the edges.  We are a long standing fully authorized independent Gretsch guitar dealer. This  guitar and comes with the deluxe Gretsch hard case, all documentation including the original COA & Reissue envelope (not show in the photos) and the Gretsch Limited lifetime warranty. If you have any questions at all please feel free to give us a call or chat!

About the Guitar (from Gretsch.com)

The Elliot Easton signature guitar features vintage Duo Jet style with ultra-pro refinements courtesy of Elliot and Gretsch. Its updates include Sperzel locking tuners with small vintage tuning keys, 25" scale length, graphite nut, 2 alnico-magnet Filter'Tron™ pickups, and a Tune-O-Matic bridge. You also get custom touches like a master volume control with no loss of highs at lower volumes, a pickup selector switch that's closer to the strumming hand, and a tone switch with a distinctive, midrange lead voice. It has the '50s-style narrow headstock, 2-piece maple neck, ebony fingerboard, neoclassical thumbnail position markers, and a semi-hollow mahogany body with an arched maple top. It's a unique hybrid that keeps the vintage Gretsch look and sound with special custom touches and added versatility.
