Description
Guitar legend Johnny Winter shredded his way to Blues-rock stardom, always with a road-worn Gibson Firebird slung over his shoulder. This Gibson Custom Shop Johnny Winter 1964 Firebird V is a faithful replica of one of Johnny's most beloved Firebirds, and it's a masterful recreation of the original, down to the finest detail.
This guitar was painstakingly designed to look, sound, and feel just like Johnny's very own '64 Firebird, with all the wear and tear included. This gorgeous axe features plugged holes on the body from a removed Maestro Vibrola, a faded Firebird logo on the pickguard, and a missing reflector on the rhythm tone knob, giving it a genuine, well-gigged aesthetic. Complete with a Murphy Lab custom-aged polaris white finish, this Firebird screams rock 'n' roll.
Jaw-dropping vintage looks aren't all that this beauty has to offer, though. Crafted with a 9-ply mahogany and walnut neck-through-body with mahogany wings, this guitar projects a rich resonance dripping with sustain. It's also wickedly comfortable, thanks to its authentic '64 medium "C" shape neck that fits the hand like a glove. And, with its silky-smooth Indian rosewood fretboard, ripping out blistering blues runs and blazing lead lines is an absolute joy.
The electronics in this Firebird have been vintage-spec'd to deliver dead-on '64 Firebird tones. Equipped with 500K CTS Potentiometers, a hand-wired harness, and Firebird Alnico 5 pickups, this guitar has an assertive midrange bite with beefy lows and a sparkling top-end. Plug this beast into an overdriven vintage tube amp, and your ears will transcend to blues-rock heaven.
Complete with trapezoid fingerboard inlays, classic "banjo" tuners, and a no-wire ABR-1 bridge, this Gibson Custom Shop Johnny Winter 1964 Firebird V is the epitome of rock 'n' roll. Whether you're a performer, a collector, or a massive fan of the late, great guitar icon, this Firebird is a top-notch guitar that is sure to turn heads.
