Modeled after Kirk's first Gibson, which was used to record Metallica's early albums, including Kill 'Em All, Ride the Lightning, Master of Puppets, and more, this guitar is a high-gain tone machine. As soon as you uncase this guitar, you'll notice that it's a dead-ringer for Kirk's own '79 Flying V. From the finish checking on the body to the wear on the headstock, Gibson's Murphy Lab did an excellent job at matching the original. Beyond its devilishly-good looks, this guitar's T-Type humbuckers give it a stellar vintage-inspired sound that'll bring you right back to the golden era of arena rock. These pickups are a spiritual successor to the iconic T-Top humbucker and deliver that same medium-output snarl that sits somewhere between a PAF and a high-output humbucker.
