Rooted in the modded '800/Plexi circuits from Friedman's JEL-100 and JEL-20 signature amps, the IR-J is powered by two high-voltage 12AX7 tubes, ensuring deep harmonic richness, dynamic response, and all the articulation expected from a true tube preamp.
With two fully independent channels, the IR-J covers everything from bluesy British-voiced cleans to muscular Plexi-style crunch and searing high-gain lead tones. A dedicated TS-style boost per channel provides even more tonal shaping, adding saturation, bite, and sustain when needed. Friedman's ultra-low latency impulse response (IR) technology delivers a studio-quality mic'd-up tone straight to a DAW, front-of-house, or silent headphone monitoring, with a selection of Dave Friedman's favorite IRs from OwnHammer, plus the ability to load custom IRs via Friedman's 4.0 Editor software.
