Radiohead guitarist Ed O’Brien has now partnered with Fender to deliver a wholly unique, groundbreaking Stratocaster that lives up to the stellar heights of his hugely influential playing style. This Stratocaster features a Fernandes Sustainer pickup (powered by a 9V battery) in the neck position provides near-infinite sustain, perfect for the more ambient, cavernous playing styles that Ed helped pioneer. A single-coil sized Seymour Duncan JB Jr. humbucker resides in the bridge position, and offers extra girth to your tone when you need it. Plus, a Texas Special single-coil in the middle position adds even more tonal versatility for more punch. This pickup combination is like nothing you've ever seen in a Strat. Playability is exceptional as well thanks to modern features such as the 9.5" radius fretboard, narrow tall frets, and great-playing 10/56" "V" neck profile. While Ed opted for a more subdued finish package, his visual style is present in the custom "Flower of Life" logo neck plate. Top it all off with Vintage-Style hardware, and you have an absolutely killer Strat with unmatched tonal versatility that is truly worthy of its namesake.
