Inspired by the '64 model, this guitar captures the spirit of Fender's pre-CBS era, featuring clay dot inlays, a traditional "spaghetti" logo, and numerous period-correct details that give it a premium vintage vibe.
The Fender Custom Shop 1964 L-Series Stratocaster boasts a 2-piece alder body with a relic'd 3-color sunburst finish, replicating the look of a well-gigged guitar from the mid-'60s. Joining the body is a rift-sawn maple neck with a '63 "C" profile, which plays with a fast, comfortable response. Its 7.25" to 9.5" vintage compound radius 3A rosewood fingerboard enhances playability further, flattening out in the upper register for easier soloing.
Three hand-wound '64 Stratocaster pickups deliver a rich tone with clear, bell-like highs and tight lows. The Fat '64 neck pickup has a bold, full-bodied sound with increased output and low-end power, while the bridge pickup is bright and articulate. For hum-cancellation, the middle single-coil is reverse-wound/reverse-polarity.
