The Eventide Riptide is the perfect combination of gritty overdrive and rich, swirling modulation. Inspired by the legendary Uni-Vibe pedal, this stompbox excels at dishing out spacey, cinematic tones. Don't be fooled, though; it's not another Uni-Vibe clone. Thanks to its cutting-edge circuitry, this pedal boasts a secondary modulation mode along with two unique flavors of overdrive, allowing players to crank up the heat with a wealth of amazing sounds.
The Riptide has four primary presets; two modulation settings and two overdrives. For modulation, you can select between a classic '60s Shin-ei Uni-Vibe or a deeper vibrato with a chewy, phaser-like sound. For overdrive, you can choose either a dynamic, crunchy distortion or a smooth, saturated drive with a natural boost.
Convenience is at the core of the Riptide's design, hence its dual footswitch setup. With a dedicated switch for each effect, you can go from an aggressive distortion to a syrupy chorus, or combine the two for maximum indie-rock goodness. Additionally, you can create your own custom effects and save them to any of the Riptide's five preset slots. If you run out of space, you can always boot up the Eventide Device Manager to unlock more preset slots.
