This pedal captures the legendary sound of a genuine Dumble amplifier, a mainstay in both guitarists' live equipment. The Gladio SC is a straightforward pedal. A set of Volume and Gain knobs control the output level and intensity of the overdrive signal, taking your tone from crisp and clear to dirty and aggressive. There's also a Tone knob, which adjusts the brightness of your signal.
The key to achieving SRV's overdrive sound is having the clean guitar signal mixed in. That's why the Gladio SC has a clean blend knob; you retain the clarity and warmth of your dry signal paired with the saturation and sizzle of the dirty channel. Combine the two, and you can create all sorts of dynamics and textures. It's as if you were playing with two amps simultaneously, one dirty and one clean.
