Description
Description: Circa 1930 Vintage Dobro Model 37 Resonator Acoustic Guitar
Condition: Very good. The neck has been heat pressed by our luthier for better playability. The action is still a bit high but there is room on the saddle for it to come down if desired. Cover plate is unoriginal. Surface scratches, nicks, dings, dents and consistent weather checking throughout the instrument. All parts are original and in perfect working condition.
Body: Double bound body with mahogany top, back and sides in natural finish. Chrome tailpiece, cover plate and a spider style bridge over the resonator. This model features a sound well, round screen sound holes on either shoulder and three holes directly under the fingerboard.
Neck: Mahogany neck with a very light flame figuring on the back, bound rosewood fingerboard, pearloid dot inlays and a 1 7/8” nut. Slotted peg head features three-on-a-strip vintage nickel tuners with ivoroid buttons. 24 ¾” scale length.
Playability/Sound: This Dobro produces a great sound with plenty of attack and even response from the lows, mids and highs. The resonator has great volume yet retains plenty of warmth thanks to the wood body. The neck is extremely comfortable for slide guitar and great for chords especially in the lower registers. The light flame figuring on the neck adds a nice bit of character.
Case: Includes vintage hardshell case.
