Catalinbread’s Formula 55 is the perfect tool to take your tone to the next level. Designed to provide loads of Tweed-style overdrive with all the inherent nuances players hold dear, this pedal is not only full of tonal character but history as well. Based on the tweed 5E3 Deluxe circuit, it boats an all-discrete JFET-based signal path that provides excellent range, punch, and volume, all with low output impedance to you can drive both the pedal and your amp to find the perfect balance. Complete with a simple set of controls and a Hi/Lo button to switch between clean and hot-rodded settings, the Formula 55 is the perfect way to “amp” your tone before it even hits your amplifier.
Controls:
Volume: From warm fat jazz clean to thick horn-like barking overdrive.
Tone: Noon for flat. Turn down for warm, smokey tones. Turn it up to boost upper mids and cut through the mix.
Presence: Adjusts ~ 5khz range. Set to noon to start. Turn it up for more bite! Turn it down to warm things up.
Master: Sets output level. Lots of boost on tap.
Hi-Lo Button:
Hi/Red: Like swapping in hotter tubes, for more gain, overdrive and attitude.
Low/Green: Low gain mode from clean to overdrive
