Description
This is a brand new effect from Catalinbread, the Katzenkonig (The Cat King). This pedal combines the best elements of the Tone Bender MKII fuzz with a Rat distortion to create something that sings like a fuzz but is tight like a distortion. The pedal was designed to provide everything from a nice, tight and harmonic crunch to a thick singing lead with tons of sustain and even fuzz mayhem. The pedal features four controls; Filter, Gain, Volume and Input. The input control can be used to match a guitar to the pedal or just to get various levels of saturation out of the pedal. It controls input sensitivity specifically so it does a great job of dialing in just the right amount of input gain and saturation. The gain control is not a convention control. It controls the amount of negative feedback in the stage which results in a wide range of highly useable gain! The filter control, much like the filter control on a Rat enables you to dial in a darker sound, creamy lead tone or something super bright and biting. This is all around an exceptional pedal!
