Description
What makes this guitar special: Super clean and a great player through and through, this ES-139 has a classic look and solid tone to boot. It is the perfect bridge between a Les Paul and larger Gibson archtops, taking on characteristics from both in terms of look, feel, and sound. The body is a few pounds lighter than a standard Les Paul, already providing it quite a bit more playability and overall balance, but also imparting a bit of classic jazz box warmth and vintage vibe that pairs perfectly with the tonality of the Burstbuckers. The controls are simple, the neck plays easy, and it comes with a pro setup so it plays great top to bottom.
Condition: This guitar is in excellent condition overall. It shows only minor dings and light surface scratches throughout, but is otherwise in fantastic shape cosmetically. The frets show very little wear and still have a full lifetime of playing left in them. The neck is comfortable and the truss rod functions as it should.
Body: Single cutaway double bound semi-hollow body in Vintage Sunburst. Chrome Tune-o-matic bridge and stop bar tailpiece. Black speed knobs.
Neck: Medium depth D shape mahogany neck and bound rosewood fingerboard with trapezoid inlays. 1 11/16” nut width. 24.75” scale length. Chrome Grover tuning machines.
Electronics: Burstbucker Pro humbuckers. 1 x volume, 1 x tone. 3-way pickup selector.
Weight: 7 lbs 2.3 oz
Playability/Sound: The neck on this guitar plays very easily and should be an easy adjustment, especially for anyone who is highly familiar with SlimTaper profiles and similar shapes. The Burstbuckers sound great in both positions. The neck has a nice full response with great upper mid-range character and chunky low end, and the bridge is brighter with a bit of vintage jangle and warmth.
Case: Includes original gigbag and certificate.
