Description
What makes this guitar special: This is a fairly straight forward and no nonsense Epiphone dot, but it plays great and sounds the same. The SlimTaper D shape neck feels great and is easy to play, especially with the flat on the back of the neck making it easy to pull off those bar chords. The Alnico pickups sound great in both positions with the neck outputting a rich full sound with a decent amount of chunk when pushed harder, and the bridge position has a lovely clear chime that cuts wonderfully for lead playing or standing out in the mix. Plus, the lovely Vintage Sunburst finish will turn a few heads with its great look to match its wonderful sound. Professionally set up by our in-house tech, all you will need to do is take it out of its hard shell case and tune it.
Condition: This guitar is in excellent condition overall. It does possess some light surface scratches, with the heaviest concentration on the pickguard, but is free of any other dings, dents, or other marks; which is remarkable for a used instrument. The frets show very little, if any wear, and still have a full lifetime of playing ahead of them. The neck is straight and the truss rod is functioning.
Body: Double cutaway, double bound semi-hollow body with laminated maple top back and sides in Vintage Sunburst finish. Nickel Tune-o-Matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece. 3-ply black pickguard. Amber bell control knobs.
Neck: SlimTaper D profile set mahogany neck (.89” at the 1st fret, .99” at the 12th fret). 22 fret rosewood fingerboard with white dot inlays and white side dots. Pearl “Deco Oval” and Epiphone logo headstock inlay. Grover nickel tuning machines. 1 5/8” nut width. 24 ¾” scale length.
Electronics: Alnico Classic Humbucker in the neck and Alnico Classic Plus humbucker in the bridge. Dual volume and dual tone controls. 3-way pickup selector switch.
Weight: 7 lbs. 15.9 oz.
Playability/Sound: The SlimTaper profile has a nice, wide feel to it with a good amount of flat real estate on the back. The neck pickup has a warm, rich character, while the bridge has a bit more crispness and clean chime. Both pickups play well together when clean or overdriven.
Case: Includes an Epiphone hard shell case.
