Description
What makes this guitar special: This is a straight-forward Epiphone SG with great tone and playability for the money. Its aesthetics are ultimately classic from the covered humbuckers to the vintage-style tuning machines and Cherry finish. The pickups themselves sound surprisingly good, with a nice full-bodied response in the neck with slight grit, to the crisp bite in the bridge. Plus, it comes with a hardshell case, it’s still in great shape, and will undoubtedly serve its next owner as well in look as it does playability.
Condition: This guitar is in excellent condition overall. It only shows a few small dings, dings, and light scratches, but is otherwise in great shape and it shows. The frets show very little wear and still have a full lifetime of playing left in them. The neck is straight and the truss rod functions as it should.
Body: Double cutaway mahogany body in Cherry finish. Nickel Tune-o-matic bridge and stop bar tailpiece. Black top hat control knobs with silver inserts. 4-ply black pickguard.
Neck: ‘60s SlimTaper D shape set mahogany neck and rosewood fingerboard with trapezoid inlays. Vintage-style Wilkinson deluxe tuning machines with green tulip keys. 1.68” nut width. 24.75” scale length.
Electronics: Alnico Classic PRO humbuckers in the neck and bridge. 2 x push/pull volume (coil tap), 2 x tone controls. 3-way pickup selector.
Weight: 6 lbs 5.6 oz
Playability/Sound: The SlimTaper D neck is easy to move around and will be great for players who prefer a bit flatter profile compared to the average C shape. The pickups sound surprisingly good, with a good amount of full-bodied chunk in the neck and crisp upper-midrange bite in the bridge.
Case: Includes original hardshell case.
