Description
What makes this guitar special? For a guitar with an extremely simple build, this Melody Maker sounds absolutely fantastic. The flat black finish is easy to keep clean and the head to toe blackout look definitely gives it some dark character. The neck is extremely comfortable and is a welcome variant to the standard Gibson necks. Simple and straight-forward, this guitar provides excellent tone and playability, especially for the price.
Condition: This Melody Maker is in excellent condition overall. There are very few marks on this guitar, but it does have a few small dings and scratches, but largely remains very clean. It even still has the original pickguard plastic. The frets show very little fret wear and still have a lifetime left in them. The truss rod functions as it should.
Body: Contoured maple slab body in flat/matte Black. Single-ply black pickguard. Chrome wrap around tailpiece/bridge. Black tapered speed knob/top hat.
Neck: Medium-round mahogany Melody Maker profile neck and 12” radius baked maple fingerboard with dot inlays. 1.695” corian nut. Gibson Deluxe vintage-style tuning machines with white buttons.
Electronics: Single 491T ceramic humbucking pickup in the bridge. 1 x volume control.
Weight: 7 lbs 4.9 oz
Playability/Sound: For a guitar with only one pickup and a volume control, it has pretty fantastic tone. The neck is super comfortable and has a slightly larger profile than most standard Gibsons.
