Description
What makes this guitar special: Fender’s Stevie Ray Vaughan Stratocaster is a finely crafted like-new version of Vaughan’s favorite guitar - the famous “Number One” Strat with which he electrified listeners everywhere and seared scorching Texas blues into the top of the charts. For pure SRV tone and style that evokes one of the Stratocaster’s most revered masters, this is the “one.” Several SRV features come together to create a very unique Strat with a special feel & tone all its own. Professionally set up by our luthier with fresh strings & low action, so it's ready to play right out of the case!
Cosmetic Condition: Excellent condition with some light play wear - various minor nicks & dings along with mild surface scratches.
Neck: As Vaughan himself preferred, his signature model features a maple neck with a thick oval profile that imparts a distinctively comfortable fretting-hand feel, and more mass for improved tone and sustain. A great wood for instrument fingerboards, pau ferro is a South American tonewood with a feel and sonic characteristics similar to rosewood, but lighter in color and harder. Cream dot inlays with 22 jumbo frets in great shape with hardly any wear. The largest of the fret sizes, jumbo frets are tall and wide, which lets you get a better grip on the strings, enabling more control over them and making bends and vibrato easier. A good choice for players with larger hands and thicker fingers. Vintage style tuners are in perfect working condition. 1 5/8" nut width; 25 1/2" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod is in perfect working condition.
Body: Contoured, solid alder body finished in 3-tone sunburst. Vintage style tremolo bridge with adjustable saddles. Vaughan is said to have preferred the left-handed (or upside-down) tremolo because its placement on a right-handed guitar was more like the arrangement used by Jimi Hendrix - with the trem arm above the strings rather than below them. Original trem arm is of course included with the guitar. Surely the most distinctive visual element of this instrument is its black 3-ply pickguard, engraved with the big, bold initials of the man himself. The all gold hardware really rounds the package, making it a sharp-looking Strat! Guitar weighs 7 lbs 15.1 oz.
Pickups: Single-coil Texas Special pickups are over-wound for big Texas-blues tone with dynamically scorching output. With alnico 5 magnets, enamel-coated magnet wire and staggered pole pieces for balanced output across each string, they sing, scream and everything in between with tight bass, focused midrange and crystalline highs. Master volume & dual tone controls with skirted knobs; 5-way selector switch. All electronics are in perfect working condition.
Case: Original tweed hardshell case included.
