Description

What makes this guitar special? A fantastic twist on the classic Epiphone Riviera, the Nick Valensi P-94 version does the brand and model justice with style. The P-94 pickups are perfectly Strokes-esque with a beautiful blend of single-coil jangle for the garage sound and a more full-bodied response for the heart of rock and roll. The cuts of maple used for this guitar look absolutely stunning with huge sweeping waves that flank the vertical center stripes that parallel its neck on the back of the guitar. It features a fixed bridge, so you never have to worry about things shifting around while changing strings, yet the frequensator tailpiece still holds onto the classic style of the original Riviera. The SlimTaper neck is extremely easy to move around and provides ample space for executing lead lines with its flat-centered D profile. The controls are simple, the tone is great, the acoustic resonance is a bonus, and the overall condition and setup make this a solid yet unique addition to any roster, for players or collectors.

Condition: This guitar is in very good condition if not better. It does show various nicks, dings, dents, and scratches, but largely remains clean and still looks great for a used guitar. The frets show only light wear and still have a considerable amount of playing time left in them. The neck is comfortable and the truss rod is functioning.

Body: Double bound, double cutaway semi-hollow body with laminated maple top, back, and sides in Antique Natural finish. Fixed Tune-o-matic bridge and frequensator split trapeze tailpiece. Raised 3-ply black pickguard with E logo. Black top hat knobs with silver inserts.

Neck: SlimTaper D shape mahogany neck and bound rosewood fingerboard with figured acrylic parallelogram in inlays. Sealed chrome Grover tuning machines. “Valensi” script truss rod cover. 1 5/8” nut width. 24.74” scale.

Electronics: Gibson P-94R in the neck and P-94T in the bridge. 2 x volume, 2 x tone controls. 3-way pickup selector.

Weight: 7 lbs 14.9 oz

Playability/Sound: The SlimTaper D shape is nice and slim and provides a nice flat back to post up on. The pickups sound great with a perfect combination of single-coil jangle, but full and rich character with a pleasant top end chime.

Case: Includes gigbag.
