Description
What makes this guitar special: This is a great-playing Tele Thinline with an undeniably fantastic look. The cuts of wood used for this guitar are pretty phenomenal head to toe, especially the pieces of alder that compose the body, which show long sweeping waves of grain under its Sunburst finish. The neck shows similarly great figuring on both sides adding some extra character throughout its length. The Wide Range pickups sound great in all 3 positions, from the warm and full neck to the crisp bite and jangle of the bridge. The neck has a pleasantly chunky feel that sits perfectly in between a modern C and a baseball bat, which makes it a great choice for anyone who prefers a more full-in-hand feel. Plus, it’s still in great shape for a used guitar and will undoubtedly serve as a loyal axe in any arsenal.
Condition: This guitar is in excellent condition overall. It shows only minor dings, dents, scuffs, and light scratches, but is otherwise in fantastic shape for a used guitar. The frets show only light wear and still have a considerable amount of life left in them. The neck is straight and the truss rod functions as it should.
Body: Single cutaway semi-hollow body in Sunburst finish. 3-ply white pearloid pickguard. Short-plate bridge with individually adjustable saddles. Knurled chrome control knobs.
Neck: U shape maple neck and 7.5” radius maple fingerboard with black dot inlays. Vintage-style Fender “F” chrome tuning machines. 1 5/8” nut width. 25.5” scale length.
Electronics: Fender “Wide Range” humbuckers in the neck and bridge. 1 x volume, 1 x tone control. 3-way pickup selector.
Weight: 7 lbs 7.8 oz
Playability/Sound: The U shape neck on this Tele has a bit more full-in-hand feel than a C, but isn’t a full baseball bat either. The combination of pickups and semi-hollow body construction provide a distinct response that tailors the normal Tele twang into a bit fuller response, especially with the added warmth of the neck. The bridge still has great bite and jangle.
