Description
What makes this guitar special: 2008 marked the last year the 200 series was produced in the USA before production of these models moved to Mexico. The fit and finish on this piece is fantastic, with great projection and a nice tonal balance. The Taylor Expression preamp system sounds terrific plugged in, and the Rosewood fingerboard (now hard to find in Taylor models) is soft and comfortable, with easy maneuverability up and down the length of the neck. This guitar comes professionally setup by our in-house luthier, so it plays and sounds great.
Cosmetic condition: Pretty good shape, with a few signs of age and use here and there. Various surface and handling scratches throughout, with some visible pickwear on the pickguard, some minor fretwear, and one moderate sized scratch on the treble side of the lower bout on the top. There is a small dent in the top of the headstock, and as is common with Taylor models, some purely cosmetic separation between the back of the neck joint and binding.
Body: Laminated double bound rosewood back and sides with solid Sitka Spruce top in natural finish with multi ring ivoroid rosette and ivoroid purfling. Rosewood bridge with black bridge pins and tortoise pickguard. Lower bout width measures 16” across with 4 1/2" depth, and upper bout width measures 11 1/2" across with 4” depth.
Weight: 4lb, 15oz
Neck: Nicely rounded mahogany neck with white side dots and pearl dot inlays. Nicely variegated rosewood fingerboard is in great shape, and frets show only light wear with a ton of life left in them. D tuner is a replacement, but all tuners function normally. 25 1/2" scale length. 1 3/4" nut width. Neck is straight and truss rod works as it should.
Electronics:Taylor Expression Preamp System with adjustable Bass, Treble, and Volume.
Case: Original hard shell case included.
