Description
What makes this guitar special: The 4th installment of Gibson’s “Guitar of the Week” series, this Explorer Pro is a gorgeous take on a classic instrument. It sports a AA flame maple top finished in a vintage sunburst, balanced against a beautifully variegated rosewood fingerboard and lightweight solid mahogany body design. This one has been played, but just enough to break it in-used, but not abused. It sports a couple decals as branded by the previous owner, and the pickups have been replaced with a set of Seymour Duncan Mayhem SH's that sound absolutely terrific. Pro setup is included-so all you have to do is tune it up & plug it in.
Cosmetic condition: Played in, but not thrown around. The body shows some surface scratches, dents, dings, nicks, and scuffs, with some pickwear on the front and some light buckle rash on the back. The previous owner swapped the original pickups for Seymour Duncan’s, and added a couple decals-a skull on the top of the treble side, and a “Fuel Café” sticker on one of the electronics panels.
Body: Solid mahogany body with bound AA flame maple cap in tobacco sunburst finish. Nashville Tune-O-Matic bridge and chrome stopbar tailpiece.
Weight: 7 lb, 2.6 oz
Neck: Slim tapered mahogany neck with black side dots and pearl dot inlays. 1 11/16” nut width, 24 3/4" scale length. Black headstock overlay with pearl Gibson logo and Grover tuners in perfect working order. Bound rosewood fingerboard is in terrific shape, and frets show almost no wear. Neck is straight and plays beautifully up and down the length of the fingerboard.
Electronics: Replacement Seymour Duncan Mayhem SH humbuckers (Neck-12.35k ohms, Bridge-15.17k ohms) with 3-way pickup selector switch and vintage-style tophat knobs, 2x volume, 1x tone.
Case: Original hard shell case included. Case is stickered up, but in great shape.
