Description

What makes this guitar special: The figuring on this bass alone puts it head and shoulders above the rest, but it also comes packed with as much tone as it does aesthetic appeal. The body itself shows figuring that perfectly moves around the teardrop pickguard on the top, while in the back it has beautiful variation from tight and straight grains to wide waves that fade off into its belly-cut contour, all of which looks fantastic under its Cherry Sunburst finish. The Pau Ferro fingerboard shows a bit of the same, but the real highlight is the perfectly aged birdseye maple neck that has light angled stripes akin to a soft flame and is intensely punctuated by birdseye dots. In terms of sound, between the humbucker in the bridge and an active 3-band EQ, this bass can cover everything from deep, smooth, and thick to defined, punchy, and up front, even with a set of flatwounds. Outside of a few marks here and there, the body is still very clean for a 10-year old instrument and still sounds and plays great.

Condition: This bass is in very good condition overall. It does possess various small dings, dents, nicks, chips, and scratches, but largely remains very clean and still looks great for being almost 10 years old. The fingerboard is still in great condition. The truss rod functions as it should.

Body: Contoured double cutaway body in Cherry Sunburst finish. 4-ply white pearloid pickguard. Music Man chrome plated hardened steel bridge with stainless steel saddles. Knurled dome knobs.

Neck: Select birdeye maple neck and Pau Ferro fingerboard with inlaid fretlines. Music Man open-gear tuning machines with chrome clover keys. 1 11/16” nut width. 34” scale.

Electronics: Single Music Man humbucking pickup with alnico magnets. 3-band active EQ with 1 x bass, 1 x mid, 1 x treble control. 1 x master volume.

Weight: 8 lbs 13.6 oz

Playability/Sound: Between the ultra-smooth and low friction gunstock oil and wax blend finish and the neck profile, this bass plays beautifully from the nut to the cutaway. The humbucker in the bridge have a good amount of range from deep and thick to up front and punchy, even with flatwounds.

Case: Includes original hardshell case.
