Description
What makes this guitar special: This 2005 Gibson Custom Shop Les Paul R7 is a faithful recreation of the outstanding Gold Top guitars Gibson produced in the 50’s. Featuring historic appointments such as one-piece mahogany neck and body construction, as well as a period-accurate formula for the Gold finish, this guitar takes all of the features that made the original ’57 legendary, and uses them to recreate a truly convincing vintage playing experience.
Condition: This R7 is in excellent shape. It does possess some minor surface scratches and few small dents and dings, primarily on the back of the instrument. Otherwise, the instrument is incredibly clean. The frets show minimal play wear and have plenty of life in them. The neck is straight and the truss rod functions perfectly. One other note, the previous owner was a smoker, so the guitar has a faint nicotine odor.
Body: Single cutaway one-piece mahogany body with carved maple cap in Gold Top finish. Nickel ABR Tune-o-Matic bridge and nickel Stop bar tailpiece.
Neck: Chunky one-piece mahogany neck (.94” at the first fret, 1.02” at the 12th fret). Bound rosewood fingerboard with trapezoid inlays and black side dots. 1 11/16” nut width. 24 ¾” scale length. Gibson Deluxe vintage style tuning machines with green keystone buttons. The tuners are in perfect working order.
Electronics: Gibson ’57 Classic Humbuckers. Dual volume and tone controls with Gold top hat knobs. 3 – way toggle switch. Gibson “bumble bee” capacitors. All electronics are in perfect working condition.
Neck: 7.65 ohms
Bridge: 8.36 ohms
Weight: 8 lbs. 4.9 oz.
Playability/Sound: The chunky mahogany neck is incredibly comfortable and easy to play despite its thickness. The pickups provide plenty of vintage character but still provide a ton of punchy mids, low end warmth, and cutting lead tones that would be well suited for just about any genre and playing style.
Case: Includes original hardshell case, original paper work and COA.
