Description

What makes this guitar special: Another fantastic limited edition model from Martin, this CEO-5 boasts excellent tonal character and a look to match. Aesthetically, it boasts two gorgeous cuts of bearclaw spruce that litter the lower bout with visual detail. Its appointments are relatively simple, but are perfectly centered by its herringbone rosette and matching purfling. Tonally, it excels beyond just a nice-looking top. It has a huge response for its size and boasts a surprising low end for its tone woods, a rich midrange that remains present without being too overwhelming, and a crisp and articulate top end that has a ton of chime. If that wasn’t enough, it is incredibly clean for a guitar that’s over 10 years old, comes with its original case, and includes a professional setup.

Condition: This guitar is in excellent condition overall. It shows only minor dings and light scratches here and there, but is otherwise in fantastic shape for a guitar that’s over 10 years old. The frets show very minimal wear if any and still have a full lifetime of playing left in them. The neck is straight and the truss rod functions as it should.

Body: Slope shoulder 12-fret dreadnought body with solid sapele back and sides and a solid bearclaw spruce top in Natural finish. Grained ivoroid-bound top with herringbone purfling and a matching three-ring rosette with a herringbone center ring. Striped ebony bridge with compensated bone saddle and bone bridge pins. Tortoise pickguard.

Neck: Slim soft V shaped mahogany neck and striped ebony fingerboard with abalone dot inlays. Gold sealed tuning machines with pearl buttons. Slotted headstock. 1 ¾” nut width. 25.5” scale length. .83” deep at the first fret.

Weight: 4 lbs 10.4 oz

Playability/Sound: The soft V neck is surprisingly thin with great playability up and down the neck, even as a 12-fret. It has fantastic tone across the board with excellent top end clarity chock full of chime, a rich midrange that isn’t overpowering, and a robust low end that will take you by surprise.

Case: Includes original hardshell case.
