Description
What makes this guitar special: Built in a limited run to celebrate a great talent gone too soon, the D-21JC features a beautiful Indian Rosewood back & sides balanced against a tinted Sitka Spruce top. This commemorative edition of a classic guitar is one of only 73 made, inlaid with a 1973 dime at the 3rd fret, both in tribute to the date of Croce’s death. Croce’s signature is inlaid at the 19th fret, and there is a photo of the man himself on the inside of the guitar as well. This piece is in superb condition for a used guitar, and will arrive ready to play out of the case.
Cosmetic condition: Great shape for its age, with some light wear throughout. Various scratches, dents, dings, nicks, and scuffs are present, with some surface level buckle rash and pickwear on the front. There are a few dings in the top visible under direct lighting. Frets show some wear, but have life left in them.
Body: Bound solid Indian Rosewood back and sides with Sitka Spruce top in natural finish. Black pickguard with black/off-white purfling and rosette. Lower bout width measures 15 5/8” with 4 7/8” depth. Upper bout width measures 11”, with 3 7/8” depth.

Neck: C-shaped solid mahogany neck with off-white side dots and pearl dot inlays. 1973 dime inlaid at the 3rd fret. Jim Croce signature inlaid at 19th fret. Ebony fingerboard is in terrific shape, and frets show only light wear, with a lot of life left. Rosewood headstock overlay with gold CF Martin logo. Chrome sealed Grover tuners function perfectly. 1 11/16” nut width, 25.4” scale length. Neck is straight and plays great up and down the length of the fingerboard. Neck thickness measures .84” at the first fret, and .88” at the 10th.
