Description
What’s special about this guitar: This is a Gary Moore Signature Les Paul from the first year of production (2000) complete with a hardshell case and pickguard both with Gary Moore’s Signature. The fact that this is a first year model makes it both rare and desirable! This guitar is based off of Moore’s 59 Burst which was originally owned by Peter Green. Features include a Grade A mahogany back and AA flame maple top, quarter-sawn mahogany neck carved to a rounded 50s profile, orange drop tone caps and Patent Applied For humbuckers. The guitar does include an original pickguard however the body has not been drilled for the holes so we have not installed it. The idea is to preserve the natural look of the AA flame maple top.
Condition: Very good shape overall! There are various surface scratches, nicks, dings, dents and chips throughout the guitar with some heavy buckle rash on the back that has worn through to the bare wood. The fingerboard and frets have light play wear and plenty of life left in them. The neck is nice and comfortable with great action and the truss rod functions perfectly. The tuners are unoriginal and holes from the original machines are visible. All electronics and parts are in perfect working condition.
Body: Weight-relieved mahogany body with a AA flame maple top in amber burst finish. Stop-Bar Tailpiece, Tune-O-Matic bridge and skirted control knobs. The original pickguard with Gary Moores signature is included in the case.
Neck: Quarter-sawn mahogany neck with a rounded 50s profile and a rosewood fingerboard. Pearloid trapezoid inlays and a 1 11/16” nut. Grover tuners, 24.75” scale length.
Pickups/Electronics: Gibson Patent Applied For humbuckers in the neck and bridge with dual volume and tone controls and a 3-way selector switch.
Neck: 7.47K Ohms.
Bridge: 7.20K Ohms.
Weight: 9lbs, 4.0oz.
Case: Includes the original hardshell case.
